MEET RORY
Rory Goree: A Life of Service, Leadership, and Community Advocacy.

Rory Goree, a Glendale resident of over 30 years, has dedicated his life to serving his country, his community, and the causes he holds dear. With 10 years of service in the United States Navy, Rory developed the leadership and discipline that would later fuel his success in a wide variety of fields, including nonprofit work, business, and government.
Born in California, Rory was raised by a minister who worked the orchards alongside members of the Latino community. Rory learned the importance of helping others and being their advocate. His father's deep involvement in the community shaped Rory’s lifelong drive to support those in need. These values have guided his approach to public service and his commitment to giving back.
As the National President of Greyhound Pets of America, Rory was the visionary architect behind the nationwide effort to increase adoptions of ex-racing greyhounds. Under his leadership, the organization grew to 60 chapters with over 10,000 volunteers, making strides toward achieving an almost 100% adoption rate for retired greyhounds. His relentless dedication to animal welfare and community service has positively impacted the lives of thousands, both human and canine.
Rory’s passion for public service also extended to his appointment to the Arizona Racing Commission, where he served for 10 years, including as Vice Chair and a three-year tenure as Chair. His work on the Commission helped guide the racing industry through transformative changes, always with a focus on fairness, transparency, and integrity.
Rory is also a successful entrepreneur. He co-owned The Espresso Garden, a popular coffee shop in downtown Glendale. Additionally, for over twenty years, Rory ran his own consulting business, advising major corporations nationwide on critical issues.
Rory’s leadership extended to community advocacy when he led the charge to save the Velma Teague Library, preserving a vital resource for the Glendale community. With a strong record of leadership, service, and advocacy, Rory Goree remains committed to making a positive impact on the lives of those around him.
